Byron Healthy Ageing Social Group
A main objective of the Healthy Ageing Project is to promote social connections and inclusion in the community. This is one of the most satisfying and beneficial aspects of the project and will be very rewarding for all involved!
As a result, there is a new social group that has now started and will meet on the first Wednesday of every month. We will meet in the Verandah Room of the Byron Community Centre and will have a different focus and theme for each get-together. The groups will be from 10.00am to 12.00pm each time, with a break for morning tea. Watch this space for each month’s date and theme!
Meeting for September 2013
The meeting for September will be on Wednesday the 4th from 10.00am to 12.00pm. The theme is ‘show and tell’, with the focus on getting to know and appreciate a new aspect of each other’s lives. Please bring along something (significant object or photo etc) or someone (friend, family or community member) to show and tell!
Introduce your object or person and spend five minutes sharing with the group how your thing / person has impacted on your life. Your friend / family member may also want to do the same for you!
We will also share morning tea with each other and decide together what the theme will be for the next meeting in October. If you can come please RSVP to Catie Saleh by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the community centre on 6685-6807 between Monday and Thursday.
Hope to see you there!
